November 27th, 2019 – Nerd Street Gamers has been named Preston & Steve’s 2019 Camp Out for Hunger’s Official Esports Partner. That means we’ll be putting four professional-grade gaming setups up at the massive, five-day anti-hunger event that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars and over one million pounds of food for Philabundance. Donors and volunteers will have a chance to socialize with friends while competing in games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, FIFA, Madden, and NBA 2K.
“Hunger is a serious problem for far too many people in the Philadelphia community and across the globe,” said John Fazio, Founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers. “The Preston and Steve Show and Beasley Media Group do a tremendous job raising awareness and donations for Philabundance, and Nerd Street Gamers is proud to be the Official Esports Partner of Camp Out For Hunger.”
If you’ve never been to Camp Out, it’s a nationally recognized fundraising event that ties in entertainment, local organizations, and the Philadelphia community. Preston and Steve broadcast their morning show from the event, and the week is full of visits from surprise guests like celebrities and athletes. The fun doesn’t stop when the show goes off the air. Musical acts and comedians keep the crowds, donors, and volunteers entertained.
The esports area features the same setups used at Nerd Street Gamers’ Localhost Philly, the esports and gaming venue in Northern Liberties where people can come and play, train and compete in their favorite games on the same PCs used in professional gaming tournaments.
We will also be streaming the Preston & Steve Show from our Twitch channel on Thursday, December 5. Fans can go to Twitch.tv/nerdstgamers to watch the show and donate.
